“What do you know about Welsh kings?” - Richard Campbell Gansey III

(via maggie-stiefvater-deactivated20)

Guys. My dad found tumblr. He’s been spending several hours a day on it for the last week.

I almost feel like I should stage an intervention (we had a Facebook intervention).

Or maybe draw a salt line, blocking him in his room.

“For my sister, and so many girls and women like her, the gaming marketplace begins and ends with these mainstream visions of gaming, and the mainstream stores like Game Stop that sell them. “It’s obviously for boys. The nudity of course, but even the colors. From what I see, they mostly hire boys.” We discuss the posters and cardboard stand-ups we’ve seen in their windows: stubbly white men cradling bricks of oily black weaponry, or half-naked voluptuous women with pouting, glossy lips inviting the onlooker to ogle. Be the hero, over and over again, in a million monochrome worlds: crush the bad guy, fuck the woman, do a whole lot of shooting in between. Games are fantasy and fun, the marketing tells us. Fantasy and fun built upon our backs.”

No girl wins: three ways women unlearn their love of video games - Offworld (via alwaysalreadyangry)

This is such a strong point.

Just a little Matthew Lewis/Neville Longbottom appreciation on Facebook :)

I’m so glad I’m a part of this group.

I never actually thought about how incredibly boring staring at a lake would be, what a bad idea for an event.

YOU KNOW WHAT’S NOT A BAD IDEA

YOUR VOICE (⊙ꇴ⊙)

Aah I love it that you give every character a real personality! There are so many interpretations of Harry Potter and it’s characters and I imagine that it is pretty hard to come up with a new twist when it comes to their voices, but you are so good at it! I love how Snape says “hour” and Dumbledore’s “buRRN”! <3

Thank you for your great work, I really really love it! ゚・✿ヾ╲(。◕‿◕。)╱✿・゚

I can’t.

gracefullygordon-deactivated201 Asked:
I hear sometimes you help set writers up with critique partners. Is that true? If so, when will you do that next?

hongoumasamune-deactivated20200 Asked:
how many drafts do you go through before the finished product?

My answer:

maggie-stiefvater-deactivated20:

Dear toyguncombat,

I have come to accept that I don’t write in multi-draft form. I write and rewrite and arrange and rearrange the first four-fifths of the novel until I am happy with them, which means writing some parts a dozen times and others only once. Then my editor says “send me your book” and I send him a book without an end on it. Every time, he believes I am actually sending him a book with an end, and every time he is wrong. An hour or day later he always sends me an email that says “I scrolled to the end and there is no end I knew it I knew it.” This is a game we have played almost one dozen times now since 2008.

I then wait two weeks and write the end and send it to him. I know I prematurely age him. I am not sorry.

urs,

Stiefvater

So, this was announced! My secret is revealed! I am about 30K into the first book and I am so excited and so pleased to finally be able to talk about it.

Crow babies are important

Somehow it never occurred to me that crows start out as babies.
